Training and Courses

 At Checkendon we can train you for your British Horse Society exams up to and including Stage 4 and PTT. Both riding and stable management sessions can be covered in as much detail as you need.

The courses are tailor made for you, there are no large groups. This means that we can assess you and work on the areas that need attention.

We can fit the courses around you there are no set times or days.

Pony Club Training

Checkendon is a Pony Club centre - for children that do not have their own ponies. However we can also offer tuition to those with their own pony as well.

We offer training for all Pony Club levels and Tests. We can also carry out and examine the tests.

We run courses for throughout all school holidays tailored to individual needs to help children to learn and develop both their riding and stable management skills.

The courses are not just for Pony Club members we run them for all children who want to learn more about horses and riding.

There are many different options to choose from

• Day courses - run from 10am - 4pm and consist of 2 hours of riding, 2 hours of stable management, 1 hour helping to groom and feed the horses at lunch time and an hour for lunch (lunch is not provided)

•  Half day courses - run from 10am - 1pm and consist of 1 hour of riding, 1 hour of stable management and an hour helping to groom and feed the horses.

• Week courses - During the Summer and Easter holidays we run week long courses they start at 10am on the Monday and finish at 4pm on the Friday. Within the week the children have lots of riding and stable management but also go on trips and watch riding demonstrations and lots more. (All trips and food are included in the price)

  Horse Sense Courses

Why not book yourself in for one of our fun and varied horse sense courses which are available to you throughout the year and offer you the perfect opportunity for you to learn to ride or to improve your riding ability. We can offer this on a holiday basis or a day basis. If you prefer you could bring your own horse with you. We welcome anyone of any age and standard; the courses are geared towards the needs of each individual and are tailored to suit you. Our courses are run by professional, experienced, and qualified instructors, and can be held for one to five days, depending on your availability.
