Checkendon is ever evolving, expanding
and always open to new ideas.
There is nothing that we would not consider!
We can provided a variety of
entertainment and education for all levels of ability and all ages.
For example
- Hen parties - Come with a group
of friend for the day. Ride, do some stable management and eat,
or
perhaps you would prefer some beauty treatments. We can tailor the day
to fit around you. What a novel experience for the bride to be!
- Corporate entertainment - Imagine
a day out with work colleagues. A meeting in the morning in our function
room, followed by a ride for those that can, a lesson for those that
can't and/or stable management. Alternatively perhaps a non horse option of beauty
treatments or a yoga class. Have lunch in the fantastic coffee shop or
one of the surrounding pubs and then more activities in the afternoon.
- Entertain guests -
Breakfast followed by a two hour hack perhaps.
Perhaps you could treat your guests to a
massage, a facial or manicure. If you live close to us why not make the
most of us!
- Learn about horses - Perhaps your
child has a pony and you need to know more about it's care. Maybe you have a
horse and just want to learn more about certain aspects or want to
improve your riding. What ever you age or ability we have
something for you. We tailor our days at Checkendon to meet your needs.
Most of the above we base around the
following options, however if this does not work for you we can tailor make
the format.
- Day courses -
run from 10am - 4pm and consist of 2 hours of riding, 2 hours of stable
management, 1 hour helping to groom and feed the horses at lunch time
and an hour for lunch
- Half
day courses - run from 10am - 1pm and consist of 1 hour of riding, 1
hour of stable management and an hour helping to groom and feed the
horses.
Horse Sense Course
Alternatively, you could book
yourself in for one of our fun and varied horse sense holiday courses which are available
to you throughout the year and offer you the perfect opportunity for you to learn to ride
or to improve your riding ability. If you prefer you could bring your own horse with you.
We welcome anyone of any age and standard; the courses are geared towards the needs of
each individual and are tailored to suit you. Our courses are run by professional,
experienced, and qualified instructors, and can be held for one to five days, depending on
your availability.
Spa Days
At Checkendon we hold 'Spa Days' for
owners and their horses.
We can hold these days for groups of
varying sizes.
The days consist of a variety of
treatments for both you and your horse.
For example - Your horse could have a
swim followed by a massage and then you could have a massage and a beauty
treatment. Then you could both go for a hack in the glorious surrounding
countryside.
These days have been a great success
for riding clubs as a great alternative day out where there is no pressure
of competing - just a relaxing day for both horses and owners.
